“The nurses at Goodrich know my dad’s stories by heart. When I walk in, he’s relaxed, shaved, and smiling. I get to be his daughter again—not his full‑time case manager.”
— Lauren, daughter of a Goodrich resident

Imagine your mom waking up to a gentle knock, her favorite morning song humming softly from the hallway. A nurse who knows she hates cold orange juice brings her tea just the way she likes it. No rushing. No confusion. Just predictable, dignified care.
Later, she’s laughing in a small group art session, or tending herbs in the Goodrich courtyard. In the afternoon, a nurse reviews her medications and checks in about pain or worries. By the time you visit after work, she’s content and ready to tell you about her day.
This is what “good days” can look like again—for them and for you.

The guilt, the late‑night research, the hospital discharge paperwork—you’re not meant to navigate this alone. The Goodrich team walks beside you from the first tour through move‑in day and beyond.
You’ve done the hard part by caring this much. Let us help carry the rest.
“My mom isn’t ‘Room 214’ here. She’s Maria—the retired teacher who loves old movies. The Goodrich staff greets her like family every single day.”
— Jason, son & caregiver
“When Dad’s appetite changed, the nurse called me before I had a chance to worry. They adjusted his meals and meds the same day.”
— Emily, daughter of a resident

Choosing a nursing home for your parent is one of the biggest decisions you’ll ever make. Here are honest answers from the Goodrich team.
In most cases, yes. Many residents at HomeMedix Goodrich continue seeing their existing primary care doctor or specialists, while our nursing team coordinates care, communicates changes, and helps manage appointments and transportation when needed. If you prefer, we can also connect your parent with our trusted physician partners who round on‑site.
During your first visit, an RN and care advisor will sit down with you to review your parent’s medical history, medications, mobility, memory, and daily routines. Together, we’ll map out what a typical day looks like now, and what a safer, more supported day could look like at Goodrich. From there, we’ll recommend the package that meets their needs without adding unnecessary cost—and adjust over time as needs change.
Many of our residents were initially reluctant to move. We approach those conversations with patience and respect. During your tour, you’re welcome to bring your parent to meet residents with similar stories, see their private spaces, and experience a meal or activity. Often, once they feel the warmth of the community and see that their independence is respected, resistance softens.
Availability at the Goodrich branch changes week to week. Some families plan months ahead, while others come to us after an unexpected hospital stay. After your tour and assessment, we’ll discuss current availability, timelines, and what needs to be in place (medical records, medications, personal items) for a safe move‑in. When there’s urgency, our team moves quickly to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Coverage depends on your parent’s specific insurance plan and eligibility. Our financial counselor will review your options, including long‑term care insurance, private pay, and any available state or federal programs. We’ll outline all expected costs clearly so there are no surprises—and help you plan for the long term.
